MEN’S TENNIS EVENS OVERALL RECORD WITH 7-0 WIN OVER BLUEFIELD

RADFORD, Va. – Radford won its fifth match in a row Thursday afternoon, downing Bluefield College, 7-0, in nonconference men's tennis action at the Radford University Tennis Complex.

The Highlanders (7-7) raced out to a 1-0 advantage by quickly snatching the doubles point. Michiel Meekers and Nikhil Mannepalli blitzed by Hussan Muzaffer and Luke Lilly, 6-0, on court three.

Janken Thoen and Samuel Taylor were the next to finish, taking down Carlton Tugman and Chas Stonestreet, 6-2, at the second flight. RU made it a clean sweep when Patrick O'Keefe and Jose Moreno Manzano cruised to a 6-3 victory over Markel Aramberri and Lochlan Kitchen at the top spot.

The bottom of the Highlanders' lineup clinched the decision over Bluefield (2-8), as Moreno Manzano, Thoen and Taylor took care of their respective opponents in straight sets at the fourth-sixth flights.

Of note, O'Keefe extended his singles winning streak to 10 straight matches by prevailing, 6-2, 6-1, on court one over Aramberri.

Radford returns to action Saturday, April 4 in Rock Hill, S.C., against Winthrop. Competition gets underway at 1 p.m.
