BREDIGER TIED FOR SECOND, MEN’S GOLF SEVENTH WITH ONE ROUND TO GO

NINETY SIX, S.C. – With 36 of 54 holes in the books at the Big South Men's Golf Championship, sophomore Nick Brediger is tied for second, while Radford is seventh at The Patriot Golf Club (par 72, 7,120 yards).

Despite recording its best round ever at the conference championship, the Highlanders could not sustain their momentum from the first round, which was completed Monday morning before the second round got underway in the afternoon.

Radford was in third place following the completion of the first round. However, the Highlanders struggled in the afternoon, posting a 297.

Coastal Carolina tops the team standings at 11-under-par 565 (281-284). Four Chanticleers are inside the Top 20 on the individual leaderboard. Liberty is in the second slot with its 7-under-par 569 (286-283). Gardner-Webb (572), Winthrop (573) and Charleston Southern (575) hold the third-fifth positions, while Campbell (576) is sixth, five shots ahead of RU.

On the strength of a career-best, 36-hole ledger, Brediger is in a six-way tie for second. The Roanoke, Va., native fired a 4-under-par 68 in the morning and a 1-under-par 71 in the afternoon. Brediger combined for 11 birdies (tied for second-most in the field) during his opening 36 holes. The sophomore is tied for second in par-4 scoring as well at 4-under-par.

Tanner Carbaugh is just outside the Top 20 after logging a 2-over-par 146 (71-75). He is tied for 22^nd after carding seven birdies on the day. Conner Hayden is tied for 27^th at 147 (73-74), while Myles Creighton is tied for 33^rd at 149 (72-77). Ryan Rettberg completed his 36 holes in 152 (74-78), which is tied for 39^th.

Blake Carter of Longwood has the overnight lead in the individual race. He returned a 6-under-par 138 (68-70) to the clubhouse.

Radford is paired with Presbyterian College for Tuesday's final round, which gets underway at 8:30 a.m. The Highlanders begin their final round at 9:50 a.m. off the 10^th hole.
