HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Cleveland State volleyball team erased a 0-2 deficit by claiming the final three stanzas to edge Radford, 3-2, in Friday's first match of the Blue/Gold Invitational hosted by Toledo.
  • Trailing 23-21 in the opening frame, Radford mounted a 4-0 run capped by a Maddie Palmer kill to stake the 1-0 advantage.
  • Behind the attack of Savanna Burton and Megan Short, the Highlanders utilized an 11-2 surge midway through the second stanza to go up 2-0 at intermission.
  • However, the Vikings responded by holding RU to below .160 on the attack over the final three sets to post the comeback victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Palmer collected her ninth double-double of the season (17 kills and 19 digs).
  • Kaylor Nash posted her first career double-double behind 39 assists and 12 digs. She also hit .571 (four kills on seven attempts).
  • Short and Burton chipped in 11 kills apiece.
  • Cheyanne James led the blocking department with three rejections at the net.
  • Valerie Gonzalez notched two aces for the fourth time this season.
  • Kelby Jackson recorded her eighth double-digit dig effort of the season (14).
  • Emma Wroblicky dug 12 Viking attacks.
  • Christina Toth spearheaded the Cleveland State offense with her match-high 24 kills.
  • Two Vikings contributed double-doubles: Grace Kauth (17 kills/16 digs) and Gina Kilner (56 assists/15 digs).
