KEY STORYLINES

The Radford men's golf team was unable to sustain momentum from Monday morning's 3-under-par 285, as the Highlanders turned in a 14-over-par 302 in the evening session and are in eighth place through 36 holes of the Janney VCU Shootout.
The Highlanders are three shots behind Virginia Tech, which is the three-time defending champion of the event.
Three Radford golfers posted par-or-better scores in the first round, led by Conner Lewis' 3-under-par 69.
Lewis was tied for third, while Conner Hayden (-2 / 70) was tied for eighth upon conclusion of the opening 18 holes.
James Madison (567) has a nine-shot advantage over East Carolina and host VCU for first place in the team standings.
Tom Harris of Maryland carded a 9-under-par 135 (66-69) and leads the individual race by four strokes over JMU's Ryan Cole.
Radford is tied with the Hokies for third in the field in par-5 scoring at 8-under-par.
