Myles Creighton carded a career-best, 5-under-par 67 to ignite the Radford men's golf team during Sunday's first round of the Golfweek Program Challenge at True Blue Golf Club in Pawleys Island, S.C.
The Highlanders find themselves tied with Austin Peay State for fourth place at 5-under-par 283.
Jacksonville torched the course for a 16-under-par 272 to build an eight-shot advantage over second-place James Madison.
Ryan Cole of JMU fired a 7-under-par 65 and is one stroke clear of Jacksonville's David Wicks for medalist honors.
In addition to Creighton, Nick Brediger also finished in red figures (70). Creighton and Brediger are tied for third and 15^th, respectively, on the individual leaderboard.
Creighton's scorecard was highlighted by a team-best six birdies.
Radford is tied for the most pars in the field (63).
RU is one of three Big South teams competing in the field. Campbell (288) is tied for ninth, while Gardner-Webb (290) is in 12^th.
