RADFORD, Va.  –  In match that felt the effects of Hurricane Matthew, Radford came out on top as Kieran Robertes headed in a pass off the head of Myles Yorke two minutes and 47 seconds into the first overtime as the Highlanders defeated Presbyterian 1-0 on a blustery Saturday night inside Cupp Stadium.

Locked in a defensive battle, Radford headed into the overtime with a 10-6 shot advantage, totaling eight in the second half.

At the 92:29 mark, Fraser Colmer attempted the 10th corner kick of the contest for the Highlanders as the kick soared into a sea of white and blue. The Blue Hose cleared the ball out, eventually finding the foot of Colmer who passed to Evan Szklennik.

Szklennik sent a cross into the box, finding Yorke on the far left post. Yorke headed the ball cleanly to Roberts for the game winning header goal at the 92:47 mark for the Highlanders second overtime victory of the season.

QUOTABLE
  • "The weather conditions and the type of team you are playing against can be frustrating, but our group held together well. Defensively, we didn't give up much at all. We had to defend against some long throw-ins and corner kicks. I thought we created some pretty good chances, but on a tough night, it's about finding a way to get all three points." ~ Radford head coach Marc Reeves.

UP NEXT
  • Radford travels to Charlottesville on Tuesday to face in-state foe Virginia in a 7 p.m. battle.
  • The Highlanders are looking for their first win over the Cavaliers in 12 attempts.
