RADFORD, Va. – Members of the Radford men's and women's cross country teams cap off their seasons Friday when they compete in the NCAA Southeast Regional.Â
Â
The meet will again be hosted by the University of Virginia and held at the Panorama Farms course in Earlysville, with the women's 6K starting 11 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at 12 p.m.
Â
Radford's men will look to follow up their third-place Big South finish with another strong team performance. However, the group faces a new test as each of the Highlanders' top seven are set to run the 10K distance for the first time in a collegiate cross country meet. Still, led by all-Big South member Frisco Poole and top 25 performers Ashenafi Kidanu, Cameron Mims, Haben Zemichael and Mak Casey, will hope to continue their trend of improvement by bettering the finish of last year's squad.
Â
On the women's side, Courtney Rice, Percie Lyons and Mariah Quintero will compete individually off of their top-40 conference performances. Rice, who led the team in last year's meet, runs in her final cross country race as a Highlander.
