RADFORD DROPS MATCH TO VCU IN 4-1 INVITATIONAL

RICHMOND, Va. – Radford dropped a 5-0 non-conference matchup to in-state foe Virginia Commonwealth as apart of the VCU 4-1 Invitational, Saturday morning at the Thalhimer Tennis Center. The match was previously postponed by Winter Storm Jonas.

In the 4-1 invitational, VCU captured the only doubles match on the morning by a score of 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).

Collecting the only set win on the day for the Highlanders was Michiel Meekers, taking a 6-3 win in the opening No. 2 singles set, before dropping the match (3-6, 6-1, 6-4) to Vitor Lima.

Radford (0-2) returns to the court on Feb. 24, starting up Big South play at Presbyterian.
