BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb scored twice within a span of 33 seconds to erase a one-goal deficit and edge Radford, 14-13, in Big South women's lacrosse action Wednesday evening at Spangler Stadium.
 
Despite trailing by four goals three times in the contest, the Highlanders did not fold. Behind 12-8 with 23:45 remaining in regulation, Radford reeled off five straight goals to pull in front for the first time since a 2-1 lead early in the first half.
 
Emma Rogers scored three of her four goals during the surge. Adrian Rius, who matched Rogers' four goals, punctuated the 5-0 run with her rocket from the top of the circle to give RU a 13-12 favor with 6:03 showing on the clock.
 
However, Emma Rufolo and Austyn Gorski responded for the Runnin' Bulldogs with a pair of strikes in the closing minutes to lift the hosts to the come-from-behind victory.
 
Hannah Rosen, the Big South leader in saves, was once again sensational in front of goal for RU. She secured a game-high 14 saves and four ground balls.
 
After losing the draw control battle 14-4 in the first 30 minutes, the Highlanders responded for a 6-5 edge in the second period. The turnaround fueled Radford to a 6-4 advantage in goals scored in the second frame.
 
RU continued its success from free position, going 8 of 13.
 
Radford remains on the road for Saturday's Big South collision with Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C. Action gets underway at 12 p.m.
