GEORGETOWN, S.C. – Battling windy and difficult scoring conditions, the Radford women's golf team shot a 341 to finish eighth following Wednesday's final round of the 2016 Big South Women's Golf Championship at the par 72, 6,082-yard DeBordieu Club.
Seeded eighth for the three-day championship, the Highlanders posted an aggregate 983 (325-317-341). Top-seeded Campbell claimed its fifth Big South tournament title on the strength of its 894 (296-293-305). Three of its golfers finished one-two-three in the individual standings, headlined by medalist Nadine White's 219 (73-70-76).
Defending champion Coastal Carolina concluded 10 strokes behind the Camels at 904 (294-297-313). The Chanticleers had three of their golfers in the top 10.
Khushboo Thiagaraj was Radford's top finisher, tying for 27th at 239 (77-80-82). Olivia Jay (246) and Larissa Carter (247) placed 32nd and 33rd, respectively. Rounding out the RU lineup was Meagan Board (256) in 39th and Morgan Cox (264) in a tie for 40th.
Seven Highlanders are set to return for the 2016-17 campaign, which will be head coach Jeff Beeler's ninth season at the helm of the program.
