RADFORD, Va. – Following up on four personal bests Friday, the Radford women's track team added four more career-best and three season-best performances Saturday as it wrapped up competition in the Highlander Invitational.

Monica Mallory twice bettered her previous lifetime-low time in the 100 hurdles, while Jessica Shelton had her top performances of the year in both the 100 hurdles and high jump.

Shelton clocked 14.25 in the 100-hurdle finals to notch a third-place finish and cleared 1.52 meters in the high jump. Mallory posted a time of 14.85 in the 100-hurdle preliminary and lowered it to 14.82 in the final, placing seventh.

On Friday, the duo each notched personal-bests in the long jump with Shelton recording 5.48 meters and Mallory jumping 5.31 meters.

Naihla Rose-Delia also had a personal best on the meet's opening day with a discus distance of 36.95 meters and followed up Saturday by winning the shot put. Her throw of 13.47 meters on her second attempt was her second-best of the campaign and easily beat out Liberty's Jessica Harrison. Rose-Delia later was runner-up in the hammer throw with a distance of 48.25 meters.

Senior Shantel Jones posted a season-best in her final home meet, clocking 12.69 in the 100 meters. She lowered her time in the event for the third straight meet.

Fellow senior Danyelle McDaniel led three Highlanders among the top 11 in the 800 meters. McDaniel crossed the line in 2:18.84 to place seventh in a field of 18 runners. Malina Richardson took 10th in 2:21.28, with Kylie Knudsen right behind in 11th with a personal-best 2:21.90.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Cara Myrtle was runner-up with a time of 1:04.27, her second-quickest of the year, while freshman McKenzie Schrank followed her in a season-best 1:06.92.

Also during Friday's action, freshman Percie Lyons had her best time of the year in the 1,500 meters, crossing in 4:59.23, while Courtney Rice won a head-to-head RU battle with Courtney Burton in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Rice's winning time was 11:48.13.
