HIGHLANDERS FALL ON THE ROAD AT CHATTANOOGA

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Radford women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to host Chattanooga Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Jessica Wollmann tallied the goal for the Highlanders (1-3), scoring her first of the season and third of her career in the 64th minute. She ripped a shot from 15 yards into the lower right corner. Freshman Nicole Ray notched the assist for her first collegiate point, playing a cross into the box that found the foot of Wollmann.

However, Chattanooga had built a 3-0 lead, taking advantage of an own goal in the first half before adding two tallies in the first 11 minutes of the second half, one off a defection after a corner kick and the second a high shot from the left flank.

The Mocs (2-4-1) finished with 14-10 edge in shots, including 10-4 on goal. Jordan Lundin led the Highlanders with four shots, putting two of them on net. Courtenay Kaplan made three saves, including two leaping tips during the latter part of the first half to keep it a one-goal deficit at the time. Katie McCormick came in for the last 27 minutes and recorded four saves in her first action of the season.

Radford returns home to play its third game this year against a team from the Volunteer state, hosting Tennessee Tech Friday at 7 p.m. at Cupp Stadium.
