RADFORD, Va. – Mallory McKnight matched a career-high 16 kills as the Highlanders outscored UNC Asheville 50-20 in the final two sets springing them to a 3-1 victory on Friday night at the Dedmon Center.
 
Radford (15-3, 5-2 Big South) fell in the first set, 21-25, but led UNC Asheville (8-10, 4-3 Big South) in kills with 17. However, the Bulldogs recorded a 77 side out percentage and hit .452 as a team.
 
The Highlanders picked up 18 kills in the second set, led by McKnight's five. Maddie Palmer added four of her own and Haley Kleespies, Valerie Gonzalez and Amaya Rousseau combined for a total six kills. After a 3-3 tie, Palmer and Rousseau picked up three kills together that gave the home team a 6-3 lead. That was the last time the match was tied as the Highlanders cruised to a 25-18 victory, tying the sets at one each. Radford held UNC Asheville to a .179 hitting percentage in the set.
 
Following the 10-minute break, the Highlanders jumped to a 15-3 lead thanks to two separate 6-0 runs with Kaylor Nash and Jordan Coomes with the serve. The Highlanders ran away with the set on a 10-5 run taking a 25-8 third set victory that put them ahead 2-1.
 
The fourth set began with a 4-0 run and never lost the lead en route to a 25-12 victory. McKnight picked up five more kills as the Highlanders totaled 15 kills. The Bulldogs only hit .083 in the set, which was the second lowest in any set of the night. Radford also picked up four of their eight total blocks in the set. The fourth set victory sealed the dominating match for the Highlanders.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
•  Mallory McKnight matched a career-high16 kills as she led all players in the match.
•  McKnight had 25 total attacks and only committed two errors to record a .560 hitting percentage.
•  Haley Kleespies picked up 50 assists, which also led all players. The junior added four kills, six digs and one block assist.
•  The Highlanders totaled 63 digs as Maddie Palmer led the way with 16; Alyssa Carruth notched 13 and Kaylor Nash added 10.
•  Palmer picked up a double-double recording 14 kills and 16 digs.
•  Valerie Gonzalez and Stephanie Neast each added 11 kills, while Amaya Rousseau tallied a season-high nine kills.
•  Radford picked up five more blocks than the Bulldogs as the team totaled eight. McKnight led the way with five total blocks.
•  The Highlanders held the Bulldogs to a .190 hitting percentage and recorded a .414 hitting percentage of their own.
•  Radford picked up 30 more kills than UNC Asheville, 66-36.
