MAGALHAES ADVANCES TO ROUND OF 32 IN ITA REGIONAL

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Radford men's tennis continues to roll at the 2017 ITA Atlantic Regionals as Rodrigo Magalhaes advanced to the Round of 32 with a victory Saturday morning.

After knocking off the No. 17 seed on Friday, Magalhaes defeated Matthew Fernandez of Richmond 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the Round of 32 in the main draw singles bracket to be played Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

Magalhaes will take on fellow Big South foe in Longwood's Amadeo Blasco, who took gown Peter Beaty of Georgia Tech 6-3, 6-3 in the Round of 64.

A day removed from a comeback victory, Alexandros Caldwell was unable to battle back against No. 12 seed Aziz Kijametovic of Old Dominon in the 7-5, 7-5 decision.

Caldwell's regional is not done as he moves on to the Round of 64 consolation bracket, taking on Liberty's Maxim Borcuti in a 9 a.m., match on Sunday.
