SETTING THE STAGE
- The Highlanders are coming off of a tough 68-95 loss against the Virginia Tech Hokies
- The Flying Fleet dropped a 70-61 decision to Barton College in their last outing, but have a chance to get some momentum back before they head to Radford against the University of Mount Olive Friday night
- Erskine is the second Division II school to play Radford this season. Georgia Southwestern in the season opener was the first

- Saturday's contest between Radford and Erskine marks the first ever meeting between the two programs

- Against Virginia Tech Wednesday night, junior forward Ed Polite Jr. became the first player to lead the team in points, rebounds and assists in a single game since Cameron Jones posted 19p, 9r, 4a at Liberty on Feb. 18, 2016
- Polite Jr. stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks
- After scoring in the 70's for their first four games of the season, the Highlanders have been held in the 60's for their last four
- Junior guard Caleb Tanner recorded his second double-digit scoring game of the season with 10 points at VT. He knocked down two 3-pointers for the sixth time this season

- Head Coach Mark Peeler has helmed the men's basketball program for 18 years while serving as Erskine's Director of Athletics for 15 years
- The Flying Fleet were picked to finish 8th out of 9 teams in Conference Carolinas
- Erskine's roster features 60 players
- Junior Austin Venable leads Erskine with 15.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. He's also added 17 blocks across nine games
- The next highest scorer on the team is sophomore Jordan Watson at 8.8 points per game
- Erskine is shooting 40.8% from the floor compared to 39.6% by opponents, but is still being outscored, 65.8 to 60.7 this season
- A second half team, the Flying Fleet have been outscored 302-242 in the first half before outscoring the opposition 295-283 after halftime
