BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Radford women's basketball team went on a late 10-0 run over the last 6:21 of the game to edge Gardner-Webb, 51-42, on Tuesday night at Paul Porter Arena en route to its 20th win of the season, the most since the 2007-08.

The Highlanders (20-6, 12-3 BSC) called a timeout with 6:38 left in the game and trailing 42-41. Four straight lay ups made by four different players forced Gardner-Webb to call a timeout with 2:49 to play in the game.

The Runnin' Bulldogs (11-15, 6-9 BSC) missed four shots in the final three minutes, which sealed the victory for the Highlanders.

During a back-and-forth first half, Radford closed the half on a 10-6 run over the final 7:05, which gave the Highlanders a 27-20 lead at halftime. Radford increased its lead to nine, which was the largest lead of the game, but Gardner-Webb closed the quarter on a 10-3 run and cut it to a one-point game, 37-36.

QUOTABLE
"This was a game that kind of never really had much of a flow. I never thought we got in sync on the floor. I feel like we did enough in the last five minutes to win the game. Not sure it was a well-played game by any stretch. Sometimes you have to win some ugly games like this, especially late in February and this team did that." – Radford head coach Mike McGuire
