CARROLL’S RECORD-BREAKING PERFORMANCE LIFTS RADFORD PAST HOWARD

RADFORD, Va.Lindsey Carroll assisted on half of the goals scored, which set a Radford single-game record, as 11 different Highlanders found the back of the net in the 20-3 victory over Howard on Saturday afternoon at Cupp Stadium.
 
Carroll tallied 10 assists – seven in the first half – that set a new single-game record at Radford and tied a Big South single-game record. Colleen O'Connell who totaled five assists earlier this year in the win over Delaware State set the previous Radford record. The last time a Big South player had 10 assists was on Feb. 25, 2013 when Emily Cooke, who played at Davidson, tallied 10 over Kennesaw State.
 
Radford (4-4) scored the first goal of the game with 1:07 taken off the clock as Juliette Ruland converted on a free position shot. Howard (0-2) answered with an Asiyah Frank goal that tied it at one with 28:09.
 
The Highlanders scored 14 unanswered with 13 of them coming in the first half to take a 14-1 lead into the locker room. Callie Bonnel and Emma Rogers scored three goals each in that span and Ruland added two. Four different Highlanders scored in the 13-0 run before halftime, which gave Radford seven different goal scorers.
 
Carroll scored within four minutes of the second half and put the Highlanders up 15-1. Natia Warren scored in under a minute after Carroll's goal to end the run. With 18:04 left to play three different Highlanders scored in Ruland, Bailey White and Carley Craddock as Carroll picked up her final three assists and pushed the lead to 18-2.
 
The Bison scored their final goal with 8:43 to play as Tierra Norris scored her first goal of the season. Craddock picked up her second goal of the game with a man-up goal and Jessica Kallish earned her first goal of the season off an assist from Emily Kowalik with 1:03 remaining.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
•  Radford had 11 different players score a goal, the most of any this season.
•  Lindsey Carroll finished with two goals and 10 assists. Her 10 assists are the most of any individual in a single-game at a current Big South member school.
•  Bailey White and Jessica Kallish each scored their first goals of the season.
•  Juliette Ruland led the Highlanders with four goals scored.
•  Callie Bonnel and Emma Rogers each had three goals and Lindsey Carroll and Carley Craddock had two.
•  Emma Rogers scooped up five ground balls and caused three turnovers, both team-highs.
•  Adrian Rius tallied five draw controls, which led the team.
•  Jenny Davis (3-2) earned the win as she recorded one save on the day. Maddie Mashewske played the entire second half and picked up three saves.
•  The Highlanders push their win total to four and are 4-1 at Cupp Stadium.

UP NEXT
Radford will wrap up non-conference play in Emmitsburg, Md., against Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, before returning home to open Big South play against Longwood on Saturday, April 1.
