RADFORD DROPS 5-2 MATCH TO WINGATE

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's tennis team dropped its 10^th straight match, falling to NCAA Division II Wingate, Friday afternoon at the Radford Tennis Complex.

The Bulldogs (10-3) entered the matched ranked No. 42 in the latest ITA rankings, while improving to 6-1 in road contests.

Radford and Wingate split the first two doubles matches as Janken Thoen and Samuel Taylor picked up a 6-2 win in No. 3 doubles. The doubles point came down to No. 2 action as Matko Varga and Alexandros Caldwell dropped a 6-3 decision as the Bulldogs claimed the early point.

Thoen got the Highlanders on the board early with a 7-6 (3), 6-4 win over Amir Zari in No. 5 singles.

Trailing 3-1, Radford used a big win by Robin Calais in No. 4 singles, taking a 7-6 (5), 6-4 win over Josh Du Toit to inch Radford within one point.

Rodrigo Magalhaes and Samuel Taylor put up strong fights down the stretch, but dropped a pair of three setters.
