MAGALHAES & CALAIS COLLECT WINS; RADFORD FALLS 5-2 TO UNCG

RADFORD, Va. – Rodrigo Magalhaes and Robin Calais picked up wins as Radford dropped a 5-2 match to UNC Greensboro Sunday afternoon in non-conference action.

Trailing 3-0, Calais picked up the first Radford win on the day, taking a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Daniel Hammarstedt in No. 4 singles. The win improves Calais to 4-7 on the season.

Following the Spartans clinching the match, Magalhaes picked up the final win on the day for the Highlanders. The freshman defeated Marcus Vidgren 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in No. 2 singles. The win marked his second straight, improving to 4-9 on the season.

Radford continues its stretch of four straight non-conference matches on Wednesday, hosting James Madison for a 3 p.m. match.
