LACROSSE TRAVELS TO WINTHROP FOR FIRST BIG SOUTH ROAD TEST



ROCK HILL, S.C. – Fresh off one of the biggest wins in school history, the Radford women's lacrosse team will travel to Eagle Field on Saturday in Rock Hill, S.C., for its first Big South road test of the season. First draw is slated for 1 p.m.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
•  The Highlanders (5-6, 1-1 Big South) secured their first Big South win as a program on Wednesday with a 19-12 win over Gardner-Webb.
•  Radford outscored the Runnin' Bulldogs 11-5 in the second half and recorded a 69.5 shot on goal percentage for the game.
•  Radford has scored 161 goals this season and is averaging 14.64 goals per game, both are atop the Big South.
•  In conference play Adrian Rius has totaled 10 goals and is averaging five per game, which leads the Big South.
•  Emma Rogers has been getting great opportunities at the net and has scored 36 goals this season that is the most in the conference. She is scoring 3.27 goals per game, which is the best in the Big South.
•  The Highlanders are ranked second in the nation for draw controls per game, behind only defending national champion North Carolina, averaging 16.55 per game.
•  Rius ranks 12th in the nation averaging 5.55 draw controls per game.
•  The Highlanders are sixth nationally in shot percentage (49 percent) and come in at 14th in the country in scoring offense averaging 14.64 goals per game.
•  Defensively, Shea Swingle leads the Highlanders with 36 ground ball pick ups and has caused 21 turnovers, both of them rank third in the Big South.
•  At goalkeeper, Maddie Mashewske has recorded a league-high 23 saves in Big South games and is averaging 11.50 per contest.

SCOUTING WINTHROP
•  Defending Big South champion, Winthrop (3-9, 0-2 Big South), has struggled this season and has lost four straight. However, the four straight losses have come against Cincinnati, Michigan, Campbell and High Point.
•  The Eagles are averaging 10 goals per game with a .731 shot on goal percentage and have converted on half of their free position shots.
•  Winthrop is led by Nicole Beatson with 33 goals this season that is second-best in the Big South behind Rogers. She also leads the team in assists with 17.
•  One of the Big South's best draw controls player is on the Eagles' roster in Katherin Judge. She has tallied 55 draw controls over the course of the season.

UP NEXT
The Highlanders return home to take on High Point on Wednesday at 4 p.m. It will be the last regular season midweek tilt at Cupp Stadium this season.
