RADFORD HOSTS NO. 16 WAKE FOREST IN FINAL MIDWEEK TILT



RADFORD, Va. – The Radford baseball team returns to Williams Field at Carter Memorial Stadium to host No. 16 Wake Forest Wednesday night in the final midweek tilt of the regular season and first of a seven-game home stretch. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.

  • Radford dropped the first matchup 18-7 on March 28.
  • Anthony Miano collected his first career home run and had three RBIs, the most of any Highlander.

  • The Demon Deacons took two in a three-game series against Boston College, but dropped a 5-3 home contest to High Point on Tuesday. The Panthers scored four in the first inning and Wake Forest could never gain the lead.
  • Jonathan Pryor is one of seven Demon Deacons to have above an .300 batting average playing in over 40 games. He leads the team with a .383 batting average.
  • Four players have double-digit home runs as Gavin Sheets has a team-high 17, Johnny Aiello has 15, Stuart Fairchild has hit 11 and Keegan Maronpot rounds out the crew with 10.
  • Sheets has a team-high 69 RBIs, while Fairchild leads the team with 50 runs scored.
  • Possessing a .314 batting average that ranks second in the ACC and 14th nationally. Wake Forest has totaled 528 hits, which ranks inside the Top 15 in the country.
  • Crossing the plate 380 times, the Demon Deacons have five players with 40-plus runs scored.
  • Sheets ranks sixth nationally with his 17 home runs and Pryor ranks 13th with his team-high 74 hits.

  • Radford will now play six straight Big South games at home, welcoming High Point into town on Friday for a three-game weekend series starting at 6:30 p.m.
