RADFORD ROLLS IN DAY ONE OF MUSGROVE MILL INTERCOLLEGIATE

CLINTON, S.C. – The Radford men's golf team picked up wins against Presbyterian and Appalachian State on Monday at the Musgrove Mill Intercollegiate Match Play, held at the Musgrove Mill Golf Club in Clinton, S.C.

Radford defeated Presbyterian, 3&2, in the morning and kept the momentum going with a 4&1 victory over Appalachian State in the second round.

Three different Highlanders picked up wins in both matches. The trio of players was Parker See, Hunter Duncan and Peter Gasperini. Sophomore Hunter Duncan stood out in day one of the competition. He won his first match 6&5, meaning he was six up with five holes to play. Duncan won his second match against Logan McNeely, 4&2.

See began the day with a 1UP victory over Ben Pirro, Presbyterian's top golfer, and ended his day with a 3&2 victory over Appalachian State's top golfer in Tripp Summerlin. Gasperini had a good showing in both rounds with a 1UP victory in the morning and a 2UP win in the afternoon. Ben Ramsey, who fell 3&2 in round one, bounced back and picked up a 6&5 victory over Alex Burris in the final round of the day.

UP NEXT
The two wins put Radford in the championship match against USC Upstate. The two teams were originally scheduled to play on the final day of competition but just like the Highlanders, the Spartans won both their matches creating a championship match. The two teams will tee off at 8 a.m., on Tuesday.
