Miami, Fla. - - -The Radford women's basketball team was defeated by the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 77-39, in the final game of the 2018 Miami (Fla.) Thanksgiving Classic on Sunday afternoon at the Watsco Center.

Khiana Johnson paced the Highlanders with 13 points on 6-of-17 shooting and senior forward
Destinee Walker (10 points, season-high 7 rebounds) was in double-figures for the third straight contest.
Walker was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 15.5 points and 6.5 rebounds over the two contests. The Florence, South Carolina native led Radford to a victory over Temple on Friday afternoon by scoring a team-high 21 points.
Radford (3-2) struggled from the floor all afternoon as they shot a season-low 24.6 percent on 16-of-65 attempts, including 1-of-16 (6.3 percent) from behind the arc.
Nebraska (2-3) connected on 31-of-65 field goals for a 47.7 percent clip and were 5-of-14 (35.7 percent) from 3-point territory.
Three Cornhuskers, Maddie Simon, Ashtyn Veerbeek (9 rebounds) and Leigha Brown, all recorded 13 points to pace Nebraska.
Walker put the Highlanders on the board after hitting a jumper in the lane to make it 7-2 but Radford was forced to call a timeout after the Huskers scored the next five points.
Radford fell behind by a 20-8 margin after Veerbeek hit a 3-pointer with 2:09 left in the first, however, the Highlanders scored the next five points to trim the deficit to 20-13 with 19 seconds remaining. Johnson nailed a trey and Rivers followed with two points from the charity-stripe to account for the run. Nebraska settled for a 22-13 lead after the opening quarter.
Nebraska opened the second stanza on an 8-2 spurt to widen their lead to 30-15 with 5:32 left before halftime and eventually took a 34-21 lead into the break.
The Huskers opened the third quarter with a jumper by Taylor Kissinger but Radford scored six straight points to close within single-digits, 36-27, with 7:58 left. Rivers opened the stretch with a layup, redshirt junior guard
Jen Falconer converted a runner in the lane and Walker hit two from the line to cap the run.
Nebraska scored the next four points but sophomore
Laney Corbin drained a jumper and redshirt junior center
Sydney Nunley scored in the paint to bring the Highlanders within 40-31 at the 5:20 mark.
Radford was still within nine points after Johnson scored in the paint with 3:42 remaining in the third quarter but the Huskers outscored the Highlanders by an 11-2 margin to finish the quarter up 18, 53-35.
Nebraska continued to pull away in the final quarter as they outscored Radford, 24-4.
The Highlanders will travel to local rival Virginia Tech on December 4.
