PINEHURST, N.C. – The Highlanders battled the conditions on day two of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate, but found themselves in second place – only two strokes out of first – when the round was over.

KEY STORYLINES

The team shot a 297 in the second round, three strokes better than in day one.
Myles Creighton birdied three holes on the front nine and finished one-over (72).
He propelled himself into a tie for third place on the individual leaderboard.
Peter Gasperini had another great round and finished the day in a tie for sixth place.
Hunter Duncan and Tyler Hull each shot four-over, but moved up seven spots and are tied for 23^rd.
The Highlanders still lead all teams with 113 total pars.
Old Dominion is in the lead with a 595 aggregate score.
Only eight strokes are the difference between the top six teams. Morehead State is in sixth place with a 603 score over two rounds.
