RADFORD DROPS MIDWEEK CONTEST TO COLGATE

BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Radford women's lacrosse team dropped a midweek contest on Tuesday to Colgate, 16-4, at The Fields of Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, Va.
GAME ONE INFORMATION
Both teams turned the ball over early in their first few possessions. Colgate scored with just over six and a half minutes into the game and took an early 1-0 lead. Radford answered within three minutes and tied the game at one as Lindsey Carroll scored her 13th goal of the season.
That's the last time the Highlanders and Raiders would be tied as Colgate used a 6-0 run that gave them a 7-1 advantage. Midway through the first half, the Highlanders answered when Emma Rogers found a cutting Juliette Ruland for a score.
The goal put the Highlanders within striking distance down, 7-2, but the Raiders scored two goals within the final eight minutes to take a 9-2 lead into the half.
Colgate didn't score until just under the 26th minute in the second half, which was the start of six straight goals that gave the Raiders a 15-2 lead with a running clock. Radford was able to find the back of the net with 10:08 to play as Emma Rogers scored her seventh goal of the season.
The Raiders' Anna DiSibio answered back with 3:59 and scored her first goal of the season. It was the final goal of the game for Colgate. A minute and a half ran off the scoreboard until Carroll created her own shot and scored her second goal of the game. Carroll's goal made it 16-4, but was the final goal of the game.
The Highlanders controlled most of the possession for the final 2:30, but couldn't find the back of the net.

- 10 different players were credited with goals from the Raiders. 23 of Colgate's 25 shots were on goal.
- The Raiders' leading scorer, Haley O'Hanlon, led all players with four goals. She also had three draw controls.
- Colgate had 20 turnovers compared to Radford's 18 and the Highlanders had 21 ground ball pick-ups as opposed to the Raider's 18.
UP NEXT
- The Highlanders will look to bounce back next Tuesday when George Washington comes to Cupp Stadium. First draw is slated for 2 p.m.
- Radford hasn't lost back-to-back games this season.
