PINEHURST, N.C. – With very windy conditions on the Pinehurst No. 8 course in Pinehurst, N.C., Peter Gasperini shot a team-best one-over (72), which led him into a second place finish at the conclusion of day one at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate.

Gasperini's finish helped the Highlanders end the day in a tie for third place with Elon and Old Dominion.
