RADFORD FINISHES OFF SPRING BREAK TRIP WITH 7-0 WIN

ORLANDO, Fla. – Radford wrapped up its Spring Break trip with a 3-1 record, improving to 6-3 on the season with a 7-0 victory over NAIA member Webber International on Friday afternoon.

"We had a positive week where we learned a lot from each other. We kept the momentum going and the players are playing better in the key points," said head coach Rolando Vargas. "We are heading in the right direction for conference matches. We have to remain focused."

Radford captured the doubles point quickly as Alexandros Caldwell and Rodrigo Magalhaes opened with a 6-0 victory in No. 2 doubles. The duo of Matko Varga and Michiel Meekers clinched the point with a 6-1 victory in No. 3 doubles.

The Highlanders continued their fast start as Robin Calais defeated Kyle Hall 6-0, 6-0 in No. 6 doubles. Magalhaes followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win in No. 3 singles, extending Radford's lead to 3-0.

The matched was clinched by Meekers in No. 4 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 decision over Marc Schneider.

Radford swept the rest of singles play as Varga followed Meekers with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ivan Bonderanko in No. 2 singles.

Caldwell won his No. 1 singles match with a 6-4, 6-2 win and Carlos Sala won 6-2, 6-3 in No. 5 singles.

Radford will host Shaw on March 14 in a 3 p.m., match as the Highlanders are set to play only their second home match of the season.
