SAVANNAH, Ga. – Radford could only score one run off four hits and fell to Savannah State on Friday afternoon at Lady Tiger Softball Field as their spring break trip ended in Savannah, Ga.

Savannah State scored all the runs it needed in the fifth inning. Brianna Harris led off the inning with a triple and scored one batter later on a base hit by Shelby Eccles. With runners at first and second, the Tigers added two runs as Amanda Hallman cleared the bases with a two-out double. The final out of the inning came via a groundout to Marissa Gagliano at shortstop, but not before Savannah State took a 3-0 lead.

The Highlanders answered in the sixth inning as Talia Douglas plated Gagliano with a single that cut the deficit to two. That's the only run the Highlanders could get as a fly out to right field ended the scoring threat with the go-ahead run on first.

Two of Radford's four hits came in the sixth inning. Gagliano, as she has done so many times before, reached base to lead off the game with a single and Sofia Tapia singled in the fourth inning for the other two hits.

The Tigers recorded eight hits in the game and left eight runners on base.
