NINETY SIX, S.C. – The Radford men's golf team began the day hot, but fell to eighth place at the conclusion of the first round of the Big South Championship on Friday afternoon.

NINETY SIX, S.C. – The Radford men's golf team began the day hot, but fell to eighth place at the conclusion of the first round of the Big South Championship on Friday afternoon.

KEY STORYLINES
- The Highlanders began the tournament shooting three-over with eight birdies as a team in the front nine, but fell to 15-over (303) throughout the final nine holes.
- Even with the 303, Radford is only five strokes away from fourth place as High Point and Longwood are tied for fourth shooting 10-over (298).
- Hunter Duncan leads the team carding a three-over (75) and is in a tied for 20th.
- Myles Creighton is tied for 26th as is Peter Gasperini and Ben Ramsey. Each player shot four-over (76).
- Gasperini leads the squad with four birdies and all of them came in the front nine.
- He also finished one-under on par 3's, while Ramsey and Creighton finished right behind him even in par 3's.
- Gardner-Webb with a three-over (291) is in first place with Campbell and Charleston Southern right on its heels with a five-over (293).
