ATLANTA – Despite totaling eight hits, Radford was unable to plate a run as the Highlanders dropped the series finale to Georgia Tech in a 4-0 decision Sunday afternoon inside Russ Chandler Stadium.

Radford starter Ryan Sande limited the Georgia Tech bats early in the game after the Yellow Jackets opened the first with back-to-back singles. A Tristin English sacrifice fly in the opening frame would be the lone run against Sande as the righty went to work after the first.

Striking out a career-high seven batters in 3.1 innings, Sande limited the Yellow Jacket offense to three hits, while striking out the side in the second inning. The junior was lifted in the bottom of the fourth and Cameron Fritz took over on the bump.

Georgia Tech touched Fritz for three runs on three hits in the fifth as Joey Bart added a two-run double and Chase Murray followed with an RBI single. Rushed into a relief outing, Fritz tossed 3.1 frames, yielding five hits and the three runs.

Radford's best chance to scratch across a run came in the second as the Highlanders loaded the bases as Colby Higgerson and Straton Podaras opened with singles. Following two outs, Will Harless walked to set up Luke Wise with a chance to knot the game. Wise ground out to second base on a ball that almost squeaked through the right side.

Radford stranded 11 on base as only one Highlander touched third on the day. The Highlanders left 25 on base in the series, while Georgia Tech stranded 33.

Spencer Horwitz joined Higgerson and Podaras with two hits each on the day. Kyle Butler and Harless were responsible for the other Highlander hits.
