RADFORD PICKS UP SEVERAL WINS AT LIBERTY INVITATIONAL

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Radford men's tennis team built on its success from last weekend at this weekend's Liberty Invitational.

DAY ONE
The Highlanders kicked things off with a pair of doubles victories. Dylan Whitehead and Reed Crabtree combined to defeat Wall/Puga of Gardner-Webb by a score of 6-3 while Rodrigo Magalhaes and William Crane teamed up for a 6-2 win against Alvarez/Conde of Presbyterian.

Then Michiel Meekers picked up Radford's lone singles win on the day with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Durall (Gardner-Webb).

DAY TWO
After dropping a doubles match together on Friday, Meekers and his partner – Virginia Tech's Chase Bernstine – bounced back with a 6-4 victory over Muamba/Sturgill of Liberty.

Meekers added to his list of strong performances with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Puga (Gardner-Webb) later that morning.

DAY THREE
Meekers was involved in both wins for Radford on Sunday, one in singles and one in doubles. As an individual, the Opgalbbeek, Belgium native earned a 7-6, 6-3 victory over Gardner-Webb's Harris. Then he teamed up with Bernstine one last time to beat Scholl/Hurrion of Gardner-Webb, 7-5.

UP NEXT
Radford stays in the state of Virginia for the Richmond Invitational. The tournament begins on Friday, Oct. 5 and continues through Sunday, Oct. 7.
