  MEN'S SOCCER
 

at No. 8 Clemson – Tuesday, Oct. 22 @ 7 p.m.
Where: Clemson, S.C. (Historic Riggs Field)

  • Radford plays its final non-conference match of the season on Tuesday night when it takes on the Clemson Tigers.
  • The Highlanders have outscored their opponents 6-3 over the course of their last three matches, including a 3-0 shutout of USC Upstate.
  • Baye Djibril Faye has scored in each of the last two games for the Highlanders, despite playing just 105 minutes between the two contests.
  • Pape Oumar Gueye continues to lead the Big South Conference with six assists this season. Gueye is tied for 21st in the nation in that category.
  • Joseba Incera picked up his second clean sheet of the season last week against USC Upstate. Incera has a 1.43 goals against average since joining the starting lineup.
  • Clemson boasts the top scoring offense in the nation, averaging 3.77 goals per game. The Tigers also lead the nation in assists per game (4.46), shots on goal per game (8.04) and points per game (12).
  • Kimarni Smith leads the Tigers with 13 goals the season, a mark that is tied for third in the nation and leads the ACC. Robbie Robinson is tied for fifth in the country with 12 goals for Clemson.
  • Tanner Dieterich has eight assists for Clemson, the top mark in the ACC. Dietrich ranks fifth in the nation in that category.
  • George Marks has started 12 games in goal, for the Tigers, posting a 1.05 goals against average.

Series: Radford leads, 8-6-1

  • The Highlanders will wrap up their home slate on Wednesday evening in a rematch of the 2018 Big South Tournament Championship match.
  • Radford has posted a .500 record in October with wins over UNC Asheville, USC Upstate and Hampton.
  • In the most recent win over Hampton, Nelia Perez notched a career-high five points with two goals and one assist.
  • Perez has four goals and one assist through the six games in October and Gabi Paupst has three goals and two assists totaling eight points through the month.
  • Radford has fired 17 shots per contest over the last six matches and held opponents to just over 11.
  • The Highlanders are 6-1 at home this season and have won five straight home contests dating back to their last home loss on Aug. 29.
  • Gardner-Webb currently sits in third place in the Big South standings after holding a 6-2 conference record.
  • The team's only two conference losses came to Campbell on Oct. 2 and High Point in double overtime a week later.
  • The Runnin' Bulldogs have scored 26 goals this season and Stina Kleppe has 10 of them and assisted on five others totaling 25 points – second in the league.
