 VOLLEYBALL
 

vs. High Point – Friday, Nov. 1st @ 6 p.m.
Where: Radford, Va. (Dedmon Center) 
Series: High Point leads, 28-25

  • Radford will cap off its third straight home match, taking on High Point this Friday.
  • In the previous match up in High Point, N.C., the Highlanders took the first two sets but ultimately fell in five.
  • Radford is 15-9 when at home against High Point, compared to their 9-15 record while on the road.
  • In the last match at High Point, Stephanie Neast and Hailey Flowers combined for 23 kills, while Taylor O'Neal and Jordan Coomes recorded 21 total digs.
  • The Highlanders are 6-0 in their last six sets, fueling back-to-back wins on the home court.
  • Esmadar Tavares has recorded five service aces in those two matches, with four of those coming against UNC Asheville.
  • The block party at home has continued for the Highlanders with Kennedi Johnson recording five over the two matches and Neast recording nine.

  • Radford enters the postseason with two straight victories as they turn their attention to Longwood, the six seed in the Big South Tournament.
  • The Highlanders and Lancers are matching up for the 17th time, but for only the second time as opponents in the Big South Tournament. In the 2012 Big South Radford shutout Longwood 2-0 in the semifinals en route to a tournament championship.
  • Radford and Longwood have no common out-of-conference foes this season, but the Highlanders did drop a close 1-0 match on the road to the Lancers earlier this season.
  • Sneior Nelia Perez led the Highlanders and was second in the Big South for goals this season, finishing the regular season with nine with her teammate Gabi Paupst not far behind with eight of her own. The duo is tied with a duo from Campbell for most goals in the Big South.
  • Courtenay Kaplan's .871 save percentage was second-best in the Big South, just behind Madison Van Dyke at Longwood who has a .873 save percentage.
  • Brianna Oliver and Lily McLane have five assists each as the helping hand for Radford scorers.
  • Radford has shut out opponents nine times this season, best in the Big South tied with Campbell. Longwood's six shutouts are tied for third best.
  • Longwood's point leader Kennedy Culbreath has totaled 14 points this season, averaging 0.93 a game.
  • The game is set to be a close one as three of the last four matches were decided by one goal.

at Big South Championships – Saturday Nov. 2

  • The Big South Championships are finally here, as Radford prepares to cap off their great season.
  • The men's 8K race is set to start off first at 10:30 a.m. in a course with all racers on the team racing for the Highlanders
  • The women's 5K race is set to begin at 11:30 a.m. with Caitlin Apps, Kayland Bond, Annsley Eckert, Savannah Hoff, Rachel Millirons, Chloe Phillips, and Mackenzie Gardner all competing.
  • After the two races, the awards ceremony is set for 12:30 p.m.
  • Radford is coming off an eighth-place finish for the men and a sixth-place finish for the women at the Vertcross Invitational two weeks ago.
 
 MEN'S BASKETBALL


vs. Randolph College (Exhibition) – Saturday, Nov. 2 @ 6 p.m.

  • The 2019-20 season is fast approaching for the Highlanders, with a final tune-up before the regular season is set for Saturday night.
  • Radford is returning 64.5% of its minutes from last season, which is fifth most in the Big South
  • This will be the first-ever game between Randolph and Radford
  • In the Big South preseason polls, Radford was tabbed to finish first with Carlik Jones winning preseason player of the year and Travis Fields Jr. grabbing an All-Conference Second-Team nomination.
  • Radford will host Highlander Hysteria on campus at the Peter's Hall gym November 4th at 8 p.m. before they travel to Lynchburg, Va. for the season opener at Liberty


 
 MEN'S GOLF
 

at East Bay Deli Classic – Sunday, Nov. 3 – Tuesday, Nov. 5
Where: Kiawah Island, S.C. (Turtle Point Golf Course)

  • Radford closes out it's fall schedule with a trip down to Kiawah Island for the East Bay Deli Classic.
  • The Highlanders are coming off a seventh-place finish at the Phoenix Invitational, after shooting a field-best final round score.
  • Peter Gasperini led the Highlanders finishing tied for seventh finishing the tournament at 6-under par.
  • Tyler Hull was the leader on the final day of the tournament with a 5-under 66 which helped push himself into the top 20 for the tournament field. 
 
 WOMEN'S GOLF

 

at Idle Hour Collegiate – Monday, Nov. 4 – Tuesday, Nov. 5
Where: Macon, Ga. (Idle Hour Golf Course)

  • Radford closes out its fall schedule with a trip down to Macon for the Idle Hour Collegiate.
  • The Highlanders are coming off a 20th-place finish at the Palmetto Intercollegiate
  • Freshman Jayde Dudley led the Highlanders finishing with a top-20 performance shooting an even-par in the final round of play.
  • Betriz Mosquera Quintas rebounded with an 11-shot improvement in her final round to finish just 3-over 75 on the final round
