 MEN'S SOCCER
 

at Presbyterian – Wednesday, Oct. 9 @ 6 p.m.

  • Radford begins an important two-match conference road trip Wednesday night when it takes on the Presbyterian Blue Hose.
  • The Highlanders have gotten balanced scoring in recent games, as Victor Valls, Mouhameth Thiam and Octavio Ocampo each scored their second goal of the season last week.
  • Radford has two of the top three assist leaders in the conference in Pape Oumar Gueye (first in the conference, five assists) and Dondre' Robinson (tied for third, three assists).
  • Gueye's five assists are tied for 23rd in the nation.
  • Despite being on the losing end of Radford's two conference matches, Joseba Incera still ranks fourth in the conference with a 1.64 goals against average.
  • Presbyterian is 1-0 in Big South play after notching an overtime win against Longwood in its last contest.
  • The Blue Hose is 3-1 in its last four matches after dropping seven straight contests to open the season.
  • Sergio Pinto and Cesar Sancho lead the Blue Hose with three goals apiece.
  • Valentin Klieve has a 2.03 goals against average in 10 appearances for Presbyterian.

 
 WOMEN'S SOCCER
 

at USC Upstate – Wednesday, Oct. 9 @ 7 p.m.

  • The Highlanders will hit the road for two straight contests. The first will be in Spartanburg, S.C., against USC Upstate on Wednesday night.
  • Radford picked up a 1-0 victory on Saturday night against UNC Asheville. Reese Degnan scored the lone goal of the match for the Highlanders. It was her first of the season.
  • The Highlanders notched their seventh shutout of the season against the Bulldogs and second in Big South play.
  • The defense has only allowed two goals in conference play this season and none in the second half. All four of Radford's scores in conference play have come in the second half.
  • Gabi Paupst has three of Radford's goals in Big South play and leads the team with five altogether.
  • Nelia Perez is right behind her with four goals and one assist, totaling for nine points. She leads the team with a .583 shot on goal percentage.
  • USC Upstate has only won two games this season. One was a 6-1 victory over Mars Hill and the other was a 2-1 match both in September.
  • The Spartans have dropped all four matches in conference play and have been outscored 11-0. Three of their four opponents are currently the top three teams in the league.
  • Abbie Ellis leads the team with eight points – three goals and two assists. Emma Honis also has three goals and one assist.
 
 MEN'S TENNIS
 

at ITA All-American Championships - Wednesday, Oct. 9 - Sunday, Oct. 13

  • The Highlanders continue their fall season as they will send Yevhen Sirous and Rodrigo Magalhaes to the ITA All-American Championships.
  • The duo was one of 32 doubles partners selected for their regional representation as the No. 9 ranked doubles in the latest ITA Regional Rankings.
  • They will compete in the Main Draw which has 24 automatic, at-large and wild card selections and eight teams from the qualifying tournaments.
  • It's the first time in program history the Highlanders will send student-athletes to the ITA All-American Championships.
  • When teamed up for doubles, Sirous and Magalhaes posted a team-best record of 13-8.
  • The 13 wins marked a season-high as the No. 1 doubles partners all season long.
