vs. Longwood – Wednesday, Nov. 6 @ 7 p.m.

Series: Radford leads, 16-8-4

  • Radford plays its final regular season match on Wednesday when it faces Longwood in a Commonwealth clash.
  • Wednesday's match carries significant conference tournament implications.
  • Radford can clinch the final spot in the Big South Championship with a win. The Highlanders can also make the tournament with a draw, provided that UNC Asheville does not win against Presbyterian.
  • Mouhameth Thiam leads the Highlanders with 10 points this season (four goals, two assists).
  • Pape Oumar Gueye leads Radford and is third in the Big South with six assists.
  • Joseba Incera ranks fourth in the conference with a 1.70 goals against average.
  • Longwood is coming off its first conference win of the season, a 3-1 victory over UNC Asheville.
  • The Lancers are led by Mikel Abando, who has eight goals on the season. Ander Etxaniz has added five goals and two assists for Longwood.
  • Jacob Reimers ranks third in the conference with a 1.66 goals against average.

  • No. 3 Radford is in the Big South Tournament Semifinals for the second time in as many years and will head to Matthews, N.C., for a Thursday night matchup against No. 2 Campbell.
  • The Highlanders topped Longwood in a wild Big South Tournament Quarterfinal match last Saturday as three different Radford players were represented with goals in the scoresheet.
  • Nelia Perez tallied one goal and two assists for a total of four points, which was one point shy of a career-high. It was the third time she had four or more points in a match this season.
  • Gabi Paupst was well represented in the points column as well as she notched a goal and two assists for three points. The junior has racked up three or more points five times this year.
  • No. 2 Campbell won the first meeting between the two teams this season on Oct. 19 as Alexa Genas scored the only goal of the match.
  • She leads the Camels with 13 goals and 10 assists. The senior tallied a goal and an assist in the quarterfinal win over Presbyterian. 
  • The Big South Attacking Player of the Year, Genas, will face off against the Big South Defensive Player of the Year, Kayla Thomas.
  • Radford picked up its first win as a No. 3 seed in the Big South Tournament, improving its record to 1-1-1. The team is 2-0 in games played in Matthews, N.C., with a pair of wins in 2018.
