CISNEROS AND APPS NAMED RUNNERS OF THE WEEK

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Radford men's and women's cross country teams swept the Big South weekly awards, with Juan Cisneros and Caitlin Apps garnering recognition for their finishes at the 2019 season opening Virginia Tech Invitational last weekend.

The junior veteran, Cisneros set the pace for the Highlanders in the 6k with an average mile time of 5:25.7. His time of 20:14.4 would be the fastest for Radford on his way to a 34th place finish overall.

Apps made her debut as a Highlander with a record shattering statement in the 4k. In her first collegiate race, the newcomer finished 12th in a field of 85 runners with a time of 14:26.8.

Both teams will be back in action next Friday, September 20 at the Virginia Tech Alumi Invite in Blacksburg, Va.
