HIGHLANDERS FINISH FIRST DAY OF PIRATE COLLEGIATE CLASSIC IN SIXTH

GREENVILLE, N.C.—The Radford women's golf team finished the first day of the Pirate Collegiate Classic on Monday in sixth place ahead of Cincinnati, William & Mary and Winthrop.

Radford had four student-athletes finish in the top-30 with junior Sidney Walker tallying a top-10 finish with round scores of 76 and 74. Beatriz Mosquera Quintas and Jayde Dudley finished the day deadlocked in a six-way tie for 21st. The duo posted rounds of 74-79 and 76-77 respectively.

Natalie Welsh kept a pretty even day with rounds of 77 and 78. Riko Nagai rounded out the tournament for the Highlanders with a round one score of 85, tightening up in the following round at 82.

As a team Radford wrapped up the day just shy of the top-5, only five strokes away from UNCG. The Highlanders led the field with three eagles as Quintas, Welsh and Dudley tallied one each.
