 WOMEN'S SOCCER
 

vs. Presbyterian – Saturday, Sept. 28 @ 7 p.m.

  • It will be a battle of unbeaten Big South foes on Saturday night as Presbyterian comes to Cupp Stadium.
  • The reigning Defensive Player of the Week, Mia Wood, gears up to help Radford try and claim its seventh shutout – and eighth victory – of the season.
  • Nelia Perez leads the squad with four goals and one assist, totaling nine points.
  • Gabi Paupst is right behind Perez with three goals. She netted the game-winner in the conference opener on Saturday against Winthrop.
  • Radford is averaging 1.44 goals per game, while holding its opponents to 0.44 shots per game.
  • The Highlanders have scored early and often with 10 of their 13 goals this season coming in the first half.
  • Presbyterian dropped its first six matches of the season before winning three straight, including two against conference foes.
  • The Blue Hose defeated both Longwood and Charleston Southern, 2-1 with a golden goal in the first overtime period.
  • Morgan Hutchison leads the team with three goals, two assists and eight points. She has taken a team-high 24 shots.

  • Radford closes its three-match road trip on Saturday with its first Big South Conference game of the season at Campbell.
  • The Highlanders sport a 1-4-2 mark on the season and are coming off consecutive one-goal losses to top-30 opponents Virginia and Coastal Carolina.
  • Thure Ilgner and Bryan Scoffield each scored the first goal of their collegiate careers against Coastal Carolina, marking the first time two defenders scored in a game for Radford this season.
  • Pape Oumar Gueye leads the Big South Conference and is tied for 16th in the nation with four assists through seven games.
  • Amadou Macky Diop is second in the Big South with four goals and leads the conference in points per game.
  • The Highlanders are 5-0-1 in their last six trips to Buies Creek, including a 5-1 win in their last match at Campbell in 2017.
  • Campbell enters the weekend with a 5-2-1 record. The Camels remained unbeaten at home with a 2-0 win over UNC Wilmington on Wednesday.
  • Thibaut Jacquel leads the Camels and ranks first in the Big South with five goals scored.
  • The Camels are 5-1-0 in their last six games, with the lone loss being a 1-0 defeat at (RV) Coastal Carolina.
  • Samuel Lechuga has started all eight matches for Campbell and leads the conference with a 0.73 goals against average.

  • Radford just finished competing in their final nonconference tournament in Chapel Hill, N.C. The team faced Colgate, VCU, and host UNC-Chapel Hill. 
  • For the Highlanders, Grace Green was named to the All-Tournament team. She played in 10 sets, tallied seven assists, and 36 digs.
  • As a team Radford ranks in the top-5 for aces per set, digs per set, team attacks per set, team service aces, and team total attacks. 
  • The Panthers were picked as the Big South preseason favorite, with junior Abby Bottomley and sophomore Madison Smith being named to the Preseason All-Big South. 
  • Bottomley has garnered conference honors twice this season with Annie Sullivan joining her most recently.
  • High Point entered their contest at (RV) South Carolina on Sunday, September 22nd riding a six-game winning streak before the Gamecocks took the match 3-1. 
 
 WOMEN'S GOLF
 

at Starmount Fall Classic – Monday Sept. 30 – Tuesday Oct. 1

  • Radford is prepping for their third tournament of the month.
  • The 54-hole tournament will span over two days, with 36 holes played on Monday and 18 played on Tuesday.
  • Radford is coming off a seventh-place finish at the Pirate Collegiate where the team shot 918 over three rounds.
  • Beatriz Mosquera Quintas led the team in a three-way tie for 15th improving her score by four strokes since the first tournament.

 
 CROSS COUNTRY
 

at UVA Panorama Farms Invite – Friday Sept. 27

  • The Highlanders put up another strong performance in the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational as junior Callum Wilson and freshman Zachary Worthman both placed in the top 50 races. Wilson and Worthman both set their 8k PR's in the race. On the women's side, Chloe Phillips kept up her strong sophomore campaign setting a 6k PR with a time of 23:42.4 and placing in the top 40 of the tournament.
  • Freshman Savannah Hoff also placed 48th for her second straight race, setting her 6k PR at 24:54.9.
  • Sophomore Joe Limo continued to keep up the pace for the Highlanders placing in the top 50 as well with a 27:17.4 time.
