vs. Howard – Tuesday, Oct. 1 @ 7 p.m.

  • Radford returns to Cupp Stadium for its final non-conference home match of the season Tuesday night when it takes on the Howard Bison.
  • The Highlanders look to bounce back after a 2-1 overtime loss in their conference opener at Campbell.
  • This is Radford's first game at Cupp Stadium since a Sept. 14 match against NJIT. The Highlanders have played three straight games on the road, losing each by one goal.
  • Radford has gotten contributions from seven different goalscorers through its first eight matches of the season.
  • Pape Oumar Gueye leads the Big South Conference and is tied for 16th in the nation with four assists.
  • Three different Highlanders have two or more assists this season (Gueye 4, Thiam 2, Robinson 2).
  • Howard broke a three-match winless streak Saturday when it defeated VMI in a weather-shortened game, 4-2.
  • Andres Gomez leads the Bison with four goals through their first eight games. Duncan Dunkwu has added two goals for Howard.
  • Daniel Hart and Ethan Percad have one assist each for the Bison, marking Howard's only assists of the seaosn.
  • Carlos Caro and Emery Simon have split time in goal for Howard, teaming up to post a 1.69 goals against average.

Series: Radford leads, 8-7-1

  • Radford enters the Longwood contest with a 2-0 conference play record for the first time since 2016.
  • The Highlanders have topped Winthrop and Presbyterian in the first two Big South matches of 2019.
  • Gabi Paupst has scored three of her five goals in the last two matches and leads the league with three goals in conference play.
  • The team has only allowed five goals through 10 matches this season, leading the conference with 0.50 goals allowed per contest.
  • Six of the 10 matches have resulted in shutouts, which also leads the Big South.
  • Longwood has had an up-and-down season so far after dropping tough matches against VCU and Charlotte to start the season. Since then, the Lancers have won three of its last seven matches.
  • Recently, the Lancers tied with Charleston Southern last Saturday but defeated Hampton 4-0 on Wednesday.
  • The Lancers have scored 11 goals this season but have allowed 12. Seven of the teams 11 goals have come in the first period.
  • Kennedy Culbreath and Emilie Kupsov combined for eight of the 11 goals, scoring four each.
