RADFORD STUDENT-ATHLETES CONTINUE ACADEMIC SUCCESS WITH STRONG FALL SEMESTER

RADFORD, Va. – Following a record-breaking spring semester, Radford student-athletes continued their success in the classroom with another top-notch fall semester.

14 of 16 Highlander teams finished the semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, including nine teams with a GPA of 3.4 or higher. The Highlander women's cross country, women's soccer and men's tennis teams had the highest GPA of any Radford program, with each team boasting a 3.6 GPA. In addition, men's soccer player Jacob Wilkinson was named the 27th Academic All-American in Radford history.

"We are very proud of our student-athletes' commitment to academic excellence, they continue to set unprecedented numbers," said Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Support Services Alix Guynn.

In total, 48 Highlander student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA last semester. 52 percent of Radford student-athletes earned Dean's List recognition for having a 3.4 GPA or higher, while 68 percent of the Highlander student-athlete population had at least a 3.0 GPA. Radford's overall department GPA was a 3.3 for the fall.

"Their success comes from a combination of setting high standards, accountability and utilizing all of the support services that Radford has to offer," Guynn added.
