Haley Hardy to Be Inducted into Georgia Lacrosse Hall of Fame

RAFORD, Va. – Women's lacrosse head coach Haley Hardy is set to be inducted into the Georgia Lacrosse Hall of Fame as a part of the 2021 class on January 31, 2021. 
 
Hardy attended Chattahoochee High School in Johns Creek, Georgia from 2003 to 2007. While there she garnered numerous accolades for her talents in the net as goalkeeper for the Cougars. A four-year varsity letterman and two-time team captain, Hardy was also named Defensive Player of the Year in 2004. Her other accolades include First Team All-Northside by the Atlanta Journal Constitution after posting an 11-4-2 record as a senior, First Team All-American by US Lacrosse, North Fulton County Prep Player of the Year in 2007, GHSA All-State twice, Cougar award winner as voted on by teammates in 2007, and member of the Chattahoochee High School Athletic Hall of Fame. 
 
Hardy set several records as a Cougar including most career saves, highest career save percentage, most saves in a season, season save percentage, lowest goals allowed average in a season, and a 65.9 season save percentage that still stands today. 
 
"Thank you to the Georgia Lacrosse Hall of Fame committee for this honor," said Hardy. "I was blessed with incredible high school coaches who believed in me and still cheer me on to this day. As soon as I decided to pick up a lacrosse stick, my parents learned as much as they could about the sport. They both encouraged me to not only excel as an individual but to also be a great teammate and leader. I am so grateful to everyone who has supported my lacrosse career. I am proud to continue to represent the State of Georgia now as a Division I coach."

Hardy continued her lacrosse career after signing her National Letter of Intent with the University of Cincinnati, to be a part of its first lacrosse team. She was a four-year letterwinner, team captain, Big East Honor Roll selection as the Bearcats' goalie, and in the record book a total of six times.
 
She has had multiple stints coaching high-profile camps in addition to Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky. Hardy continued her streak of firsts after being announced as Radford's first-ever head coach of the women's lacrosse program in October 2014. Since she has been at the helm of this program, Hardy has coached nine Big South All-Conference selections as well as five All-Academic honorees including 2020 Christenberry Award Winner and conference Scholar-Athlete Brittany Rinaldi (the program's first). Coach Hardy has had a total of eight student-athletes win conference weekly awards including six garnering Freshman of the Week honors. The Highlanders have had 11 student-athletes recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and named an IWLCA Academic Squad in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
