HIGHLANDERS CARD TOP-FIVE FINISH AT WEXFORD PLANTATION INTERCOLLEGIATE

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Radford men's golf team posted the only team score under 300 in Tuesday's final round of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, moving two spots up the leaderboard to finish in fifth place.

The Highlanders led the 18-team tournament field with 49 birdies, six more than any other team in the event.

Peter Gasperini led the Highlanders with a 10th-place finish, shooting a 3-under 69 to finish the tournament at 4-over. Gasperini had a team-high five birdies and was the only player in the entire tournament field to shoot a score under 70 in the final round.

Hunter Duncan, Tyler Hull and Nicholas Taliaferro finished in a tie for 39th overall at 11-over. Hull had three birdies on the back nine, while Taliaferro had two birdies on the back nine and Duncan carded an even-par 36 on the front nine.

Patrick Gareiss rounded out the Highlanders' contingent with a score of 12-over, placing him in a tie for 47th. Gareiss recorded a birdie on both the front nine and the back nine.
