TARAMONLIS HONORED WITH FIRST BIG SOUTH FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK AWARD

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After sweeping his competition on court one in singles and doubles Demi Taramonlis has been named Big South Freshman of the Week, announced by the conference office.

Taramonlis led the Highlanders in matches against UNC Greensboro and North Carolina A&T, with his biggest wins coming in an intense 4-3 victory over UNC Greensboro. Taking on the Spartans on court one in singles and teaming up with Andres Silva for doubles, Taramonlis won decisively 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3 respectively.

Against North Carolina A&T he kept up the pace helping the Highlanders take the doubles point with Silva once again in an easy 6-1 win, once again on court one. With a 6-2, 6-1 singles victory against his Aggie opponent, Taramonlis sealed a perfect week.

Taramonlis now owns a 6-4 overall record in singles this year, boasting a team-best 10-1 record when teamed up with Silva for doubles.

This is the first Highlander recognition of the season as the team will now turn their focus to a road trip to Davidson later this week.
