HIGHLANDERS PICK UP BIG ROAD VICTORY OVER DAVIDSON

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Highlanders went on the road and stormed through Davidson on Friday night posting a 5-2 victory with five Highlanders picking up big singles victories against a strong Davidson squad.

"Today's match showed that we have the talent to be even better than last year," head coach Rob Bareford commented. "Really proud of the way we rebounded in singles after not playing our best in doubles."

The hero of the night would be the newcomer Konstantinos Raptis clinching for the second time as a Highlander on court six holding on to win 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. Demi Taramonlis, recently named Big South Freshman of the Week, continued the freshman success for Radford by winning his fifth consecutive match on court one in dominant fashion once again 6-1, 6-2.

Andres Silva also kept his recent success rolling with another dominant victory 6-2, 6-2 on court four, his third this season. The veteran Yevhen Sirous pulled out another comeback victory on court two taking down his opponent Axel Fries 3-6, 6-1, 6-0. Fries had won five matches on court two this season including one match on court one before meeting Sirous.

Matko Varga rounded out the winning Highlanders with a comeback victory of his own on court five, his first win in as many matches on court five this season. After dropping the first set 4-6, Varga took control in the second set winning 6-3 before sealing up the final point of the day for the Highlaners 6-4 in the third set.

The doubles point didn't go the Highlanders' way with Davidson clinching the point before Taramonlis and Silva could finish on court one, although the duo was leading 5-4 at the time and working on their 10th doubles win of the year.

Radford will take a week off before taking on Mount St. Mary's next Sunday where the Highlanders will look to keep the home court undefeated.
