HIGHLANDERS TIED FOR SECOND AFTER DAY ONE AT PINEHURST

PINEHURST, N.C. – Four Radford golfers sit in the top 20 after the opening round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on Friday. The Highlanders as a team are tied for second with Davidson after shooting a team score of 298.

Nicholas Taliaferro leads the Highlanders and is tied for fifth overall after shooting a 2-over 73. Taliaferro had a team-high four birdies in the opening round. Patrick Gareiss also finds himself in the top 10 after a 3-over 74.

Peter Gasperini and Tyler Hull each had a team-best 12 pars in the opening round. Gasperini is tied for 13th at 4-over, while Hull is tied for 19th at 5-over.

Hunter Duncan rounds out Radford's contingent at 7-over, though he had the best nine-hole score of anyone on the team with a 2-under 34 on the front nine.
