HIGHLANDERS TAKE ROAD CONFERENCE MATCH AGAINST LONGWOOD

FARMVILLE, Va. – After cruising their way through a crucial doubles point and clutch play from the senior Drousile Dzeubou, the Highlanders picked up a strong conference win over Longwood Friday afternoon.

Radford took both courts one and two for the doubles point, both with 6-0 final scores. Tyler Blalock and Dzeubou picked up the win on court one while Malin Falk and Katey Fruehauf took court two.

In singles play it was business as usual for Anastasia Belyaeva who picked up another win on court one 6-2, 6-3 to stay unbeaten on that flight in conference play. Blalock kept up her strong pace from doubles with a swift victory on court four 6-3, 7-5 to give Radford to 3-0 lead.

The Lancers didn't go away quietly however, as they took courts five and three to make it a 3-2 game. It was the senior team captain Dzeubou who came up clutch with the clinch for the Highlanders to lead them to the 4-3 victory. Dzeubou bounced back from dropping her second set to win 7-6, 2-6, 7-6, her 59th career victory in singles.

The Highlanders will come back to the home courts for a match with Mount St. Mary's Sunday before hitting the road for their spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C.
