HUNTER MUNDY HONORED AS POLITICAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT DEAN’S SCHOLAR

RADFORD, Va. – Senior softball infielder Hunter Mundy was honored as a Dean's Scholar by the Radford University Political Science Department on Wednesday evening.

Only one senior is chosen per department as an exemplary representative of their accomplishments. The award is given based on several criteria and built on a faculty voting taking into account overall academic achievements, accomplishments both inside and outside of the classroom and exemplary character.

The Creedmoor, N.C., native has done a lot in her time at Radford. Heavily involved in clubs and various organizations on campus, Mundy has a 3.93 overall GPA as a political science major. She has been on the Dean's List every semester at Radford and was named a 2019 Big South All-Academic Team member.

On the field, Mundy was batting .396, before the unexpected end of the season. Her .396 batting average ranked fifth in the Big South. She had eight extra-base hits and ranked third-best in the league with five home runs. The senior tallied a 1.245 on-base plus slugging percentage, which was top ten in the Big South.

Mundy was named a Senior CLASS Award Candidate in February, one of 30 ranked in all of NCAA Softball.
