Softball Announces Exciting Upcoming 2026 Spring Schedule

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford softball program and head coach Kevin Fagan announced Wednesday morning the program's 2026 spring schedule which features and exciting and challenging lineup of foes both on the road and right here in the New River Valley.

THE BREAKDOWN
Radford Softball will compete in six regular season tournaments this season hosted by schools such as Elon (Feb. 5-7), Troy (Feb. 13-15), Campbell (Feb. 20-22), Liberty (Feb. 27 – Mar. 1), Virginia Tech (Mar. 6-8) and right here at Radford (Mar. 13-14). During these weekend visits, Radford will face top mid major and power competition including Elon, North Carolina, UConn, Troy, Central Arkansas, Iowa, Campbell, Miami (OH), Liberty, Marshall, Boston College, James Madison and Virginia Tech.

After 25 straight games on the road to open the season, Radford fans can get their first look of the team at home in their newly renovated stadium for a week full of games. New looks to Radford Softball Stadium include a brand new, state-of-the-art turf field, scoreboard and videoboard. Kicking the home slate off on Wednesday, March 11th, Radford will host Campbell before a weekend stretch against ETSU and Lafayette on Friday, March 13th and Saturday, March 14th.

After hosting a doubleheader against Marshall to close a six-game home stretch, Big South play arrives for the Highlanders. Radford goes on the road to face USC Upstate (Mar. 20-21), Longwood (Apr. 10-11) and Winthrop (Apr. 24-25) while facing Presbyterian (Mar. 27-28), Charleston Southern (Apr. 3-4) and Gardner-Webb (Apr. 17-18) at home.

Filling out the rest of the schedule will be exciting nonconference mid-week matchups spread throughout conference play. Radford will host Virginia Tech for the first time since 2019 on April 7th. On the road, the Highlanders make trips to Charlotte (Mar. 24), ETSU (Mar. 31), Tennessee (Apr. 21) and Queens (Apr. 29).

The 2026 campaign culminates with the Big South Tournament, hosted this season by USC Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C. The tournament runs from May 6th through 9th at Cyrill Softball Stadium.

WHO'S BACK?
Entering his second season at the helm of the Radford Softball program, Coach Fagan brings back a wealth of talent from last season's 2025 Big South Regular Season Championship squad. Highlighted by the reigning Big South Pitcher and Co-Freshman of the Year Dakota Redmon, Radford's pitching staff is also bolstered by returners who saw major innings and all-conference honors last season in Morgan Cooper and Abby Peace.

Offensively, Radford returns a majority of its lineup that saw marked improvement in almost every major stat category. Grace Bechtol, Amanda Lee, Abby Bossler and Amber Wolfe are all entering their third seasons with the Highlanders. After transferring into the program last year, lineup mainstays such as Grace Hogie, Isabel Harrison and Kelley Feigen are all also looking to build on impressive seasons.

Four former freshmen, now in their second seasons at Radford, include Kara Alday, Josie Driggers, Taylor Higgins, Jada Holt and Klara Van Beuge. Madison Sabo and Natalie Jones will also be looking to help lead the Highlanders in their senior campaigns.

WHO'S NEW?
During the offseason Radford brought in multiple new faces including new assistant coach Addison Greene, five freshmen and X transfers. Layla Miles, Malli Groves, Myla Russell, Isa Ellis and Ryan Costas will all be looking to make their collegiate debuts in 2026. Transferring into the program looking to make immediate impacts will be Peyton Simmons (Longwood), Emma Salzman (George Mason) and Hailey Scott (UAB).
