RADFORD, Va. – After 14 matches on the road to begin the 2021 season, the Radford Volleyball team finally got to hold its home opener in the Dedmon Center, but High Point played spoiler and handed the Highlanders a 3-0 loss.
Radford came out looking inspired in the first set, pushing the Panthers to the brink. High Point earned a 5-3 lead to kick things off before the Highlanders struck back with a 13-2 run to sprint out in front. The visitors battled their way all the way back, however, clinching the set 25-23.
The second set wasn't quite as competitive, with the Big South leaders earning a 25-14 win. The third set was similar, ending 25-15.

Taylor Jefferson made her collegiate debut in the match, earning two digs and attempting two attacks.

The Highlanders welcome North Carolina A&T on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. for another day of volleyball in the Dedmon Center.
