Highlanders Close Out Regular Season with Sixth Straight Win

RADFORD, VA. – The Radford women's soccer team won their sixth-straight match Saturday afternoon 2-0 over Charleston Southern extending their defensive scoreless streak to 568 minutes.

Radford got off to a hot start in the game as both of their goals came in the first 30 minutes of play. It was Lily McLane who broke the ice today with her goal in the 24th minute thanks to a great pass by Kat Parris.

Assisting the first goal wasn't the only way Parris would make her mark on the scoresheet as six minutes later the freshman struck again with an incredible goal. Parris shot from deep and hit the opposite corner of the net for a spectacular team-best 13th goal of the season.

In the second half Radford kept the defensive intensity strong and kept Charleston Southern at bay. Lauren Seedlock provided a crucial save midway through the second half, breaking up the Buccaneers' best shot of the day and falling on the ball to protect it from the quickly approaching opponent. Charleston Southern only got six shots off to Radford's 28 and the Highlanders held on to win 2-0.

QUOTABLE
"I'm extremely proud of how this group ended the conference regular season. I think they showed great resilience and leadership after starting an unlucky 0-3-1. I like what we are doing from both an attacking and defensive standpoint. We now have to change gears again and get ready for our conference tournament season." -Head Coach Ben Sohrabi.
